History & Biography
The Athens, Greece-based black metal band was founded in the summer of 2001. A demo, called Despise The Blindfold, was recorded and issued in 2002. The band was singer Jim, guitarist Stefanos, bassist Kostas and drummer Panayotis. Shows included opening slots for Deviser and Rotting Christ. The Cosmic Chaos demo followed in the spring of 2003. Konstantinos was on drums.

Aenaon Music of Greece issued the band’s Armageddon Rising single in 2004. It took three years, but a full-length album appeared in 2007. It was dedicated to Quorthon of Bathory who had died in 2004. K. was on bass and drums. The band toured Europe with Setherial/Corpus Christii and Krisiun/Rotting Christ. Not sure what Morbid Blood is, but it was the title of a 2011 album on a new label. It was actually taped at the band’s rehearsal space. Mr. Maelstrom was on drums. Then again he was on drums for every second band in the world. The band played at multiple festivals including Inferno Metal Festival .

There were a couple of split releases before the band signed with Metal Blade and out came Force Of Profanation in 2016. There was a video for the song Beneath The Relics Of Old. In the meantime, Stefanos had joined Varathron as well. George Trakas took over the drum stool in 2016. Nothing transpired. There was a festival in Germany and one in the Czech Republic in 2018 and then naught.

RAVENCULT - COSMIC CHAOS
Ravencult is one of the rare breed of black metal bands - from Greek or elsewhere - that sticks to true black metal. There are no female singers or cellos filling the grooves on this release. This band has gone out of its way to get a professional sound, cover and layout and committed itself to music that can be traced back to Rotting Christ, Darkthrone and Enthroned. The band is generally good and even totally brilliant when playing riffs like the one that comes at the start of Deathcult Supremacy. My suggestion would be for the band to get a heavier drum sound though.
