History & Biography
First there was a 1985 film called Re-Animator. Then there was a thrash metal band in the UK with the same name in 1987. Kev and Mike were the founders. Demo 1988 featured two songs. Guest vocalist Tony Calvert of Wales-based Tortoise Corpse declined to join as he was busy with his band. The group and Paradise Lost opened for Acid Reign. The Under One Flag banner of Music For Nations signed the band for three records following a recommendation by Acid Reign and issued the Deny Reality EP in 1989, which was produced by Colin Richardson. Martin Hooker, the owner of Music For Nations, would end up managing the band before Nuclear Assault’s Paul Loasby would take over. The full-length followed in 1990 and garnered some buzz and promotion courtesy of the label. Laughing was not so lucky. This and its successor were also produced by Colin Richardson.

That Was Then… This Is Now had a comic cover and a new line-up. The rhythm section was left standing only. The reactions were not good. A tour with Dark Angel in Europe did not help much. The band disbanded when its funky second and third albums, with elements of reggae and horns, flopped. The band also covered Thin Lizzy, which was a band previously managed by their then manager.

The inevitable reformation came in 2013. It had been discussed since 2008 since all the members still lived locally in Yorkshire. The group appeared at Bloodstock in 2015. Mike Abel had just left. John Wilson was with the band until 2018. A demo called One More War emerged in 2019. Ingleson, who had returned, was the sole leftover member now after having departed in 1991 initially. Jamie Cammish was on drums since 2016 as Mark Dennis had left now.
