History & Biography
Red Circuit was the band of keyboard guy Teske who brought in Chity Somapala after the latter man’s Firewind gig ended. It was to be the men’s main band, but of course he could not say no and continued on in multiple projects simultaneously. Formed in 2006, the debut also arrived in that year. The band was booked for ProgPower USA in 2010.

The band played Somapala’s native Sri Lanka in 2016 and duly became inactive. Keyboard man Teske is a prolific producer.

Reviews

RED CIRCUIT - TRANCE STATE - LMP
Newcomer band Red Circuit is in fact the new band of former Firewind and Avalon singer Chity Somapala. The band hangs out in the progressive rock and metal corners and likely mingles with the likes of Vanden Plas, Arena and Elegy. Several tracks touch upon Deep Purple, especially when keyboardist Markus Teske decides to go into overdrive. He comes pretty close to duplicating the Moog sound that Jon Lord pioneered.
It can get hard, but the majority of the material is velvety smooth rock with a crystal clear production, constant drumming and clean playing. The slow song Where You Are probably best demonstrates the band’s range and use of multiple instruments. Still, Trance State can really be enjoyed as an accomplished rock album. Passing on the lengthy songs, indulgent or extended solos and typically progressive themes Red Circuit might have just cut itself an album appealing to more than one sub-genre’s devotees. Play tip: the title track. - Ali “The Metallian”
