History & Biography The Reign quickly changed its name after formation in January 1991 to Reign after issuing demos called Act Of Penance in 1991 and This Silent Nation in 1992. The former demo was recorded with a drum machine. John and Mick came from the doom metal band Vox Populi. Drummer McLean was recommended by guitarist Robinson. The Reign was part of the Underground Titans tour with Decomposed, Incarcerated, Gomorrah and Nightlord in 1992.The band participated in the BBC Radio 1’s Rock War competition.
Mausoleum Records picked the band up and released Embrace in the summer of 1994. Several demo songs were included. The group played at the first With Full Force festival and toured Europe with Mortification in 1994. The group toured the UK in the spring of 1995. Mark Robinson had left by Exit Clause’s release. With its exit from Mausoleum secured, Control Over Anger appeared on a local label. Andy Metcalfe was on guitar for this record. In-between guitarists the band performed a show as a trio in Austria. The band performed two shows with a different singer before throwing in the towel. The members discussed reforming over the years.
