History & Biography
As is the law, Reign Of Erebus reformed in 2015 after a decade of inactivity. The group had originally gotten together in 1997. The band began mixing goth and pop and harsher sounds and issued a demo entitled Into The Darkness Of Pandemonium in 1998. The band showcased a piano man and two singers. The next demo was called Of Blackest Magick... and featured American idol on its cover. Blackend re-issued it. The band was singer and bassist Scott Walton, guitarist Crucem, drummer Saroth B. and keyboardist Lamiar Van Der Weyers now. After the Opus Infernus demo Blackend signed the band for four records and out came Humanracist - A Higher Form Of Human in 2001. Members came, members left and a second record emerged. A demo was released featuring the track Vae Victis, but that was it. The act had quit Blackend out of frustration and claimed to be writing a new album in fact.

Shaun "Chaotic" Black drummed for a year beginning 2015. The reformation, a.k.a. the return of Scott Walton, yielded a 2020 record. Walton had left the bass given a tendon injury. Guitarist Zwölf and bassist Morbius (Iron Void) joined in 2021. The group was booked for Darkness Over Cumbria in 2022.

Erebus was a dark god in Greek mythology.

REIGN OF EREBUS - OF BLACKEST MAGICK - BLACKEND
I am not sure who this Erebus dude is, but that's one bus I won't be jumping on anytime soon. I am not sure why England seems incapable of producing one world class black metal band, but all examples (Cradle of hype, Hecate Enthroned, etc) are nothing but gothy mushy commercially-silly posers with a penchant for ridiculous makeup and K&F folly. Granted this is nothing more than a demo remade as a MCD and the band can sound Sabbat-influenced occasionally, but it is very clear that this bunch prefer to rely on their female member's impersonation of the bitch-in-heat-moaning made famous by the other posers of the genre, rather than any reliance on 'metal'. Can somebody give these wimps a lesson on what 'black' or 'magic' mean, for otherwise this combo will never reign anything. - Ali "The Metallian"
