History & Biography
Repression played power metal from 1982 to 2001 and, of course, returned in 2008 before splitting up again. Leather & Chains and Demo 1984 were the first releases. Singer Jörg Gast joined in 1985 replacing Michael Bremer. In those days demos were called ‘demos’ and not ‘EP.’ A debut album arrived in 1988. The Germany Rocks EP came through Metal Enterprises in 1991. The band reported that the release was unauthorized and the material stemmed from 1986.

Hitz moved to guitar. Yet, the next release was a demo and was called Prevalence Of Pain. Yet another demo was 1996’s Sign Of The Times. Repression-Live came in 1997 and featured a decidedly punk cover artwork. Several members started Messiah’s Kiss in 2001.

The reformation featured guitarist Jason Banks and bassist Wayne Banks both from Messiah’s Kiss. Reloaded was the release in 2012.

Wayne and Jason are brothers.
