History & Biography When Hot Kitty picked up some respect in 1994 the band signed to the 1990s’ equivalent to Massacre Records and condemned itself to disrespect and obscurity by signing with Black Mark Production. A publishing deal was signed with BMG. The group’s sole record appeared in 1995 and the band went the way of every other band on the label. The album was recorded at the bassist’s 24-track home studio.
The act had existed since 1989. Guitarist Alain Joumel joined in 1993. The Civilized demo came next. The group played 200+ concerts in this period including opening slots for Suicidal Tendencies and The Almighty. An EP called l’Abime was released in advance of the full-length by French label Furia Records. It featured rapper EJM. The band was based in Toulon/Brignoles in the south of France. Two members ended up in Heavy Duty.
