History & Biography
Heavy metal band Revengia was founded by Almsenius circa 1999, but only released a demo in 2004. The act was envisioned to be a one-off project at first. A Decade In The Dark was followed by Eraser in 2007. This was issued by Soundholic in Japan in 2007 and then distributed by Thundering two years later. Daniel Erlandsson (Arch Enemy, etc.) was on drums up until this point. He had also been with two members in The End and Eucahrist. Singer Andreas Tomasson, who had joined in 2006, sang here, but left the act. The Swedish label ViciSolum picked the band up and released an album for the group in 2012. It was called Lake Of Fire. Guitarist Andreas Stolth joined in 2012. The act reappeared in 2016 with the Falling Sky demo. The band, Eternal Lies, Eucharist and others performed together in 2016.

Reviews

REVENGIA - A DECADE IN THE DARK - METAL FORTRESS
Revengia is a new name to me despite the age of the recording - which stems from 2001 to 2004 - and the band's sound and style. That style is near to Motörhead and, for the scene veterans, Belgium's Killer. The raw and harsh sound of the band is often checked by melody however. Having said that, singer Matti Almsenius needs to cut back on his melodious vocalizing. The attempts at injecting harmony into the singing just do not work and he, and the band, would be better off being his own gruff self. The band's core sound will serve everyone better. The band is not monotonous however. Matricide has a distinct punk edge, Dying For An Answer is quite melodic, Dirge even has a full fledged metallic solo and the song Halloween mixes heavy chords with a slower tempo. The best song remains opening cut Revengia with its explosive arrangement. Worth noting is the drumming of Arch Enemy's Daniel Erlandsson which is markedly different from his display with his main band. Revengia is neither flashy nor trendy, but honest and true instead. - Ali "The Metallian"
