History & Biography
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA-based Righteous Pigs was an early extreme metal-cum-grindcore band whose influence outlasted its physical presence. The band is also known for having contributed guitarist Mitch Harris to Napalm beginning in 1989.

The band was active between 1986 and 1990 and managed to release two albums. First, however, came Our Demo in 1987. The band was singer Joe Caper, guitarist Mitch Harris and drummer Scott Leonard. Scott’s brother Kevin, who was in Pestilence later, helped with production and bass. Demo 2 featured guitarist Stephen Chiatovich and drummer Alan Strong. A fledgling Nuclear Blast picked up on the extremeness and issued the group’s debut in 1989. Stress Related too made do without a bass player.

The band played a reunion gig in 1993 and also appeared at Maryland Deathfest XI in May of 2013. Alex Marquez (Solstice, Malevolent Creation, et.) drummed. Mitch Harris and Mick Harris of Napalm Death would set up Defecation as a side-project in 1992.
