History & Biography This crossover/power metal band was a travelling one. It was based in Ohio first, then spent its most productive period in Florida before ending up in Texas, USA. The act was christened R.I.P.T. ((Rebellious Intellectual Party Thrashers) in 1988 before changing its monicker upon departure of singer John Lidderdale. The 1989 inaugural demo was called Beyond Belief. It was followed by Temporary Insanity. These featured Brian Gedra on vocals. A cassette album called Blotter followed. A couple of the tracks were recycled for the Wild Rags Records’ Easter Island cassette EP of 1992. This featured a new track and older tracks that were remixed. The band was told there would be a blue 7” edition, but that did not happen and the gang and Wild Rags fell out. The band continued playing many concerts including opening for Cro-Mags in Ohio.
Lethal Records of Austria (Miasma, etc.) picked up the next record. Through My Eyes was recorded at Morrisound, was the band’s last and the group disbanded but not before opening a concert for Goreaphobia and Immolation. Ripped noted it had been ripped off by Lethal Records and, despite writing material for a second album, threw in the towel..
Two members regrouped in the lounge band Ciao Bella in the new century. Ripped called its music ‘Crypticore’ for a while.’Murdercore’ was also in contention.
