History & Biography
Rising Steel is a heavy metal band based in Grenoble, France that was formed in 2012. The early bassist was Stone Warrior who left and returned in 2021. The group's style draws from classic '80s British metal, melding influences of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and thrash innovators like Metallica and Slayer. After building momentum with the late 2014 demo Warlord and debuting the full-length Return Of The Warlord through Mighty Music in 2016, which now featured Metallian imprint's Emmanuelson as a member, Rising Steel spent several years sharing stages with acts such as Jaded Heart, Sister Sin, ADX (at Rising Fest), Nightmare, Nashville Pussy and Annihilator. The band opened for Nightmare locally in 2016. Mighty V. left the guitar position in 2018. The second album Fight Them All (now on Frontiers Records) helped them tour further. Newest guitarist Steff Leadmaster also had connections to Metallian (label/agency) as he was formerly of Nightmare (of Metallian honcho Yves and Öblivïon, itself full of ancillary Nightmare members). He replaced Mathias Quillard. The release of Beyond The Gates Of Hell came in late 2022. The band was at 70000 Tons Of Metal 2024, which was sponsored by Metallian magazine among others. Rising Steel advanced its discography with Legion Of The Grave in 2025.
