History & Biography
Sacrificium Carmen is a Finland-based black metal band formed in Tampere in 2009. In a world full of phony so-called black metal bands, this one is actually true to the sub-genre. The band developed a dark and ritualistic sound, drawing inspiration from mysticism, occult themes and inner transcendence. They recorded with drummer Marras in 2012 and released a self-titled demo in 2013, which helped establish their name in Finland's underground black metal scene.

Their first full-length, Ikuisen Tulen Kammiossa, came out through Saturnal Records in 2015. They followed up with Hermetica, which featured more refined production and expanded on their ritualistic themes, in 2018. V.A.L. Thanatos joined in 2019.

Their third album, Nekrognosis - Avain Varjoihin, was released through Purity Through Fire in 2021. Ceremony Of The Cursed Gnosis was a 2023 show with Shadow's Mortuary and Curse Upon A Prayer.

The band's name translates into 'sacrificial chant' from Latin. The Watcher is also a black metal band.
