History & Biography The crossover and thrash metal act was founded as Sacrilege in 1983. The guitarists were students of Joe Satriani. A demo was recorded. The band Sacrilege had a demo called Sacrilege in 1985. Bassist on both demos was Musashi 'Moose' Lethridge. The band opened for bands like DRI, Death and others. The name was changed in order to avoid confusion with the British band of the same name. B.C. stood for Berkeley, California.
Alchemy Records signed the band and released a record with the group. The strangely titled Party With God featured singer Strephon (who often roadied for Possessed), guitarists Gary and Tim, bassist Sean (replacing Dave Edwardson, who would join Neurosis, who had replaced the junkie Moose) and drummer Matt. The blasphemy continued when the second record was called Too Cool To Pray. Todd was on bass here. The band's contract was transferred to an affiliated label. The band was suing Alchemy for royalties. The band and Slammer toured the UK in 1988. The band was financing its own trek or rather Gary was helping the other members with money. Todd Newton left and Jim Lapin came in. The latter man did not stay. Moose was briefly heard in Exodus in 1993. Gary wanted to join Release. The band hung it up. The material for a 1990 demo was heard on the rerelease of Too Cool To Pray through the November Fire Records' imprint (which was an outlet for the man's art as well), which was Strephon's concern, in 2011. The act itself disbanded in 1991.
