History & Biography
Sacrilegious Rite was a German black/death metal band formed in 2009. Several founding and later members came from Capitis Damnare. The first release was a split with Ungod in 2011, followed by other split releases as part of the early discography. The early line-up was singer and guitarist Ex Ipsis-Mors (later the owner of Morbid King Of Devastation Records), French bassist bassist Sumnor Amdis and female drummer Infernal Beast who had joined in 2010. The act was billed for Switzerland's Forest Fest Open Air in 2016. The band released its only full-length album, Summoned From Beyond, on Dunkelheit Produktionen in 2017. Drummer Sitrom Rogir was also French. The band's music and lyrics were characterized by occult themes and a raw and extreme metal.

Throughout its career, Sacrilegious Rite had various line-up changes. The band split up in 2022. At this time, A was on guitar, N (also of Lunar Chalice) was on bass and synthesiser and John Berry had drummed since 2020. Ex Ipsis-Mors was in Nexphorys, which also featured drummer MDB who was with the band in 2019.Speaking of which, every member was strictly part-time playing in multiple projects simultaneously.

The band described itself as "Saarlandian Black/Death Metal." Saarland is the German state neighbouring eastern France.
