Reviews STORMLORD - THE GORGON CULT - SCARLET
It is my sincere belief that the sands of time are running low for bands like Italy's Stormlord. There are reasons both intrinsic and extrinsic to the band for that statement.
Stormlord embodies every illegitimate cliche of the so-called metal band. Obviously stealing from the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth, Stormlord is a supposed black metal band that uses keyboards, female vocals, opera vocals, Classical interludes, has repetitive song titles about Medusa and Gorgon - who were partly one and the same - and to complete the serial cliches has thought it wise to include a cover version on the album in the form of Iron Maiden's Moonchild. Gods of originality take note!
The scene is tired of false metal bands, false metal bands that copy blindly and more importantly is bound to pick the original molesters of the music over any followers any day.
The only storm this band is liable to summon is one of heavy metal fans sickened by weak elements which undermine the music of the gods. - Ali "The Metallian"
