Reviews SYRACH - DAYS OF WRATH - NAPALM
Syrach is described as doom metal by the staff at Napalm Records, but anyone expecting Candlemass or Solstice is bound to be disappointed. Syrach is more about mixing heavy metal and goth with doomy elements than Black Sabbath and Iron Man. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the group’s sound. It just plods along in an uneventful fashion. A couple of worthy riffs are surrounded by so-so music that is very simple. The band is the opposite of technical which often means a more catchy sound, although Syrach has little that is memorable. The inclusion of female vocals, while stupid to begin with, is made all the worse by the fact that the female singer plain and simple cannot sing! She has no voice to speak of!
Days Of Wrath is like the boring cousin of Hammers Of Misfortune with the highlights coming at you... hardly ever. - Anna Tergel
