Reviews TEETH OF LIONS RULE THE DIVINE - RAMPTON - SOUTHERN LORD
Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine. That's not the lyrics to the first song, but rather the band's name! Southern Lord does it again. Well over fifty minutes in length, Rampton is three songs with the names He Who Accepts Everything That Is Offered, New Pants And Shirts and The Smiler. 'Weird' sure begins to describe it. That is if you are listening to metal for conventionality, then you are in the wrong room. The vocals sound like the three Shakespearean witches weaving spells simultaneously and the music, well, it sounds like mountains of doom are being forged. Gods of distortion arise! Was the Cathedral debut too commercial for you? Lee Dorrian makes amends here. You want doom, not for listening pleasure, but to choke you? Greg Anderson the Southern Lord himself is here for you. These three songs will drag your miserable existence out until you yell for death-relief. It's as if your teeth are being pulled, slowly and methodically one at a time. All in all, if you are not a full-fledged nut, you surely will not get this. Even if you are nuts, then you are nuts and who will take your word for it?
