History & Biography Green thrash metal (or 'fresh metal') band The Prophecy²³ was founded in 2001 playing thrash metal cover versions. They originally called themselves The Prophecy, after the Iron Maiden song on the Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, but discovered there were already 22 other bands with the same name. So they added ²³ because they were supposedly the 23rd band to call themselves The Prophecy. The 2005 demo No Future For The Dead showed no faith in the afterlife. The 2007 demo Immortal Attitude showed no faith in death. The act signed with Massacre Records and released its debut album, ...To The Pit, in July of 2010. The first track was B.T.M. (Brutal Thrash Maniacs). The band was billed at Wacken Open Air in 2011. The band opened for Ahab in 2013. Singer Philipp Heckel joined for the second album, Green Machine Laser Beam. Their covers were created by cartoonist Marvin Clifford, who also worked for MAD magazine. Live At Summer Breeze was recorded in 2022.
Luca Micelli joined for Fresh Metal. The group was at Summer Breeze in 2022, 2023 and 2025. Thrash metal band Toranaga was touring Europe with Onslaught and The Prophecy²³ in 2026. The band was also booked for the Mennecy Metal Fest.
