THOUGHT CHAMBER - ANGULAR PERCEPTIONS - INSIDEOUT  
Thought Chamber is a young progressive metal band from the US comprised of several veteran or known musicians chief among them guitarist Michael Harris best known ironically for his work with guitarist David Chastain.
Anyone reading this will not be surprised that when five progressive rock/metal musicians band together the result is one hell of a technical and complex record. Angular Perceptions is a prog opus and hence the musicianship (read: mastery of the respective instruments) niveau is high. Be it the Steve Vai inspired solos, the riffs, the obvious nods to Dream Theater, bass slaps a la Kings X, tempo changes, the drum patterns or the deliberate and discernible patterns the ten tracks, which include three instrumentals, each have parts composed out of multitudes of jazzy doodling that can barely be analysed after thirty sittings. Indulgence, thy name is Thought Chamber!
The group is an awesome band technically and food for stereo for the long term. With the 'electric eye' on the cover and the complex equations and notes in it the band makes no secret of its intentions, although more fascinating is the mesmerized woman on the cover with the luminous avatars. Thought Chamber’s debut album is a testament to how far a few men can go with a few musical instruments. - Ali “The Metallian”
