Training For Utopia is a new band charging out of California. I have never been one to care which 'name' producer has worked on an album or which label is releasing an album and so forth, but the music and the powerful noise emanating from it is another matter. Not that Training For Utopia unleashes thunder and lightning exclusively. In fact, listening to this album is like cruising over hilly terrain. One goes up and down all the time and almost at the same time. One moment the band justifies an early Accüsed comparison and the other it wraps itself in the ambience of an industrial band. But boy oh boy, the thrashing quartet has not forgotten what making a racket really means. This cacophony explodes with energy. One could have done without the long opening track (which masquerades as an intro) and also without the so-called hidden track; yet overall this album can be counted on to supply massive doses of much-needed energy. - Ali "The Metallian"
