Reviews TSJUDER - DESERT NORTHERN HELL - SEASON OF MIST
Tsjuder might be a Norwegian band, but frankly all indications are that they have Swedish blood in them. Sure Norway had the mighty Immortal, but lumping Tsjuder with cartoon bands like Emperor, Dimmu Borgir or Enslaved would be a mistake. Instead, this trio takes from Bathory, Dissection and Dark Funeral to come up with its own mighty black brutal metal.
Desert Northern Hell is one massive torrent of musical malice. The three-piece might as well be an army of hate. The sadistic vision of the band translates to lots of speed, violence and savage riffs in songs like Ghoul, Lord Of Swords and Helvete. Even the doomier, and partly Celtic Frost-inspired Mouth Of Madness, cannot hold back and hits hard again and again. These guys rape and ravage their instruments, sure, but will the average 'black metal' scenester be able to live through this? - Ali "The Metallian"
