UNDERTHREAT - BEHIND MANKINDS DISGUISE - CONQUEST
Underthreat is a Colombian death metal band better known in these parts for playing various one-off shows in the land of war and destruction, namely USA. The band has also opened up shows for Monstrosity in its native country and has consequently signed to that band's label and after a year-long delay seen the release of its new album.
Behind Mankinds Disguise delivers a mixture of brutal and melodic death metal fused with a distinct Classical music influence. The voice is gruff and the tempo generally speedy. The 55-minute long CD sounds like a mix of Edge Of Sanity and Amon Amarth. While solos are rare, the band's sound does indeed sound Swedish. That contributes to this Colombian band's principally accomplished execution. - Ali "The Metallian"
