UNNATURAL - THRONE OF ANGUISH - QABALA/REPULSE
Spanish metal bands have for years been regarded as the inferior cousins of their counterparts. Whether a lack of skill, originality or experience has been the cause the Spanish tag has never been conducive to sales. The situation has deteriorated to the point where a band like Ouija conceals its origins in order to not repel the audience. The case is not very different for the band at hand. Unnatural are hampered by a lack of originality and the lack of a good production helps little. Where the band is in luck though is its style. It is death metal best described as a cross between Gorguts, Immolation and Disincarnate. Seeing that the style is uncommon and shunned by the majority of today's scenesters, the band has the advantage of having a rare product on its hands. Everyone is choking on the typical keyboard and atmospheric trend. As such, fans of the above-described might well find gratification in Throne Of Anguish. - Ali "The Metallian"
