Experimentation, both musically and vocally, within realms of the extreme.
Extreme for most of the album, Veilburner's new album blends later Morbid Angel, Sigh and the industrial tinges of Fear Factory. There are progressive rock fragments and dissonant passages throughout, which are well done incidentally. Yes, unfortunately the synthesiser does kick in at times. The effect-ridden vocalist roars in and out alternately like bestial aliens angered or spirits from beyond returning to haunt the listener. The drummer cares nothing for all of this and just keeps going most of the time. Cool title too.
Not all of it is exactly my cup of tea since my metal needs no deviation, but this is as far from commercialism and mass appeal as a Tesla driver is from class and coolness. - Ali "The Metallian"
