VISION DIVINE - THE PERFECT MACHINE - SCARLET
Vision Divine’s The Perfect Machine is an over-the-top pomp rock album with some progressive touches. Obviously, given the band’s historical connections with Labyrinth and Rhapsody the sound and the direction are not a surprise, although given the melodies, the many mellow moments, the soft minutes, the cover artwork and the concept metal fans should be on guard. Speaking of the concept, the band has put together an impressive story about a scientist and his discovery of the secret of aging, life and death. The implications are profound. The band has also provided liner notes for the respective songs or chapters of the theme. Back on the musical front, the more relevant cuts are the closing number Now That You’ve Gone and the second half of Here In 6048. The Perfect Machine will probably rev up the engines of those into the aforementioned bands, as well as fans of Royal Hunt. - Ali “The Metallian”
