For the first time in 24 years of the band’s activity, Poland-based black metal band BLACK ALTAR shall play live. The band’s first live show will take place at Subterranean Manifestation II Festival in London, England on 31.10.2020. The second gig is going to be at Darkness Guides Us Fest in November in Glasgow, Scotland where BLACK ALTAR will share the stage with TAAKE, GEHENNA, KAMPFAR, MISTHYRMING, ASAGRAUM, BLAZE OF PERDITION and others.

PUTRID OFFAL’s Sicknesses Obsessions album shall be issued by Xenokorp on May 22nd.

Finland-based death metallers TORCHIA has a single called Memoirs from its The Coven album, which is out through Rockshots this month.

Selfmadegod Records will release Degrees Of Isolation by Poland-based BANISHER. The band has a single called Apotheosis in advance of the album. The band features current and former members of DECAPITATED, BELPHEGOR, VITAL REMAINS and HATE.

HEAVEN SHALL BURN‘s Of Truth And Sacrifice will be released through Century Media Records on March 20th. The band has a video for the song My Heart And The Ocean.

LAMB OF GOD will release a new and self-titled album through Nuclear Blast Records in May.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will release an album, entitled Verminous, through Metal Blade Records in April.

Portugal-based crossover band COMMANDO has an album called Love Songs #1… (Total Destruction, Mass Executions) through Firecum records in April. The band calls its music ‘crossunder.’

HELLGARDEN’s Making Noise, Living Fast is out through Brutal Records on the 10th of April. The band is based in Brazil and was founded in 2013.

SELF DISGRACE has a new album called Fetus In Fetu. The recordings have taken place with Andrea Leonardi, (aka Bratt Sinclaire), at Mixaglia Studios in Lecco, Italy. Andrea has worked with BULLDOZER and others. The album has a theme revolving around abortion and the title refers to a parasitic being inside the unborn fetus.

Grindcore band SKAM’s The Sound Of Disease is out through Redefining Darkness Records on the 3rd of April 2020.

Pest Records has an upcoming EP for Texas, USA-based band PHOBOS MONOLITH. When The Light Will Fade is scheduled for this summer. A co-release between Satanath Records and Pest Records is the new album Endura Pleniluniis by Greenland-based doom metal band STROMPTHA.

TESTAMENT will release its thirteenth studio album Titans Of Creation through Nuclear Blast on April third. The band is touring North America with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, label mates MUNICIPAL WASTE and MESHIAAK in April and May.

DEVANGELIC will issue its third full-length album Ersetu through Willowtip in May. It was originally due in January.

ASPIDIUM’s Harmagedon demo is out April 18th. ASPIDIUM arose out of a solo project of Kurt ‘Jason’ Kelderer at the beginning of 2017.

Black Market Metal Label shall release of D APHELIUM’s Profetian Om Dygden Och Plikten on March 13th. The band is based in Sweden.

Austria-based black/thrash metal act IRDORATH has signed with Art Gates Records. An album called The Final Sin is out in May.

Canada-based ARTACH, an environmentally conscious duo is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and has a debut demo entitled Chronicles Of A Black Winter.

TRAUMA’s Ominous Black is out through Selfmadegod Records. The veteran band is based in Poland.

MORBID DEATH has released its new album, Oxygen, through Art Gates coinciding with its 30th anniversary as a band.

Czech Republic-based INSISTENT has a grinding album called Suspect. It is out through L’inphantile Collective in May.

Tokyo based “Samurais From Hell”, SURVIVE has a 2020 UK and Baltic tour, kicking off on March 18th in UK (alongside KILL ALL THE GENTLEMEN), and right after the UK run the tour hits Russia, Latvia and Lithuania. SURVIVE released a new album, entitled Immortal Warriors, through Sliptrick Records in September.

Toronto-based ITUS is following up its Primordial demo with This Can’t Be, which contrasts with the first by being much slower and mellower. Primordial is out on March 13th is the first of two demos that will culminate into a full-length album.

Wales-based EULOGY’s Memento Mori is out through One Eyed Toad Records. The band plays hard rock.

Poland/Finland-based power-prog metal band EXLIBRIS has a single for the upcoming Shadowrise demo. Hell Or High Water is accompanied by a lyric video created by the band’s lead singer Riku Turunen. The band is working on a new album.

SCORPIONS' singer Klaus Meine has undergone surgery to remove kidney stones. The band’s show with WHITESNAKE in Australia was cancelled.

Guitarist Chris Sanders has left RATT. The band performed in Oklahoma as a quartet after the man’s retirement. The band had earlier deemed him missing in action.

Australia-based heavy rock band KAISER AND THE MACHINES OF CREATION (KMC3) has a music video for the title track of its forthcoming demo, Flowers And Lies. The song is taken from the band's first recording with the current line-up. The demo is expected to be released in mid-2020.

METAL CHURCH will release a compilation called From The Vault through its Rat Pak Records in April. This release features 14 previously unreleased tracks from the Mike Howe era and several re-recordings.

Spain-based MARTIN TEMPLUM DOMINI has a self-titled and instrumental demo.

Former CANDLEMASS singer Mats Levén will join DENNER'S INFERNO, the new band of KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE guitarist Michael Denner, for that band’s upcoming festival appearances.

AMORPHIS will commemorate its 1994 album Tales From The Thousand Lakes on a Canadian tour in September. The album will be played in its entirety. Opening the tour are ENTOMBED A.D. and NERVOSA.

TZIMANI is re-issuing its 2018 self-titled EP to coincide with a twenty-date tour of North America.

New York-based LOST LEGACY is touring with WHIPLASH, DORO and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM this coming April and May in support of its new album In The Name Of Freedom, which is being released through Pure Steel Records on 20.03.2020.

Another week and another band for Tim Owens: Former JUDAS PRIEST members K.K. Downing, Tim "Ripper" Owens and Les Binks (drums) have joined forces in a new act called KK'S PRIEST. The group also features guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE) and bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX). The band is working on an album for Explorer1 Music Group.

Because bagging groceries loses its appeal: Old Finland-based band AFTERWORLD is coming back after a twenty-year break with a cover version of PROCOL HARUM’s Pandoras Box.

Italy-based heavy metal band HYPERION has a second album called Into The Maelstrom, which, like the debut, will be released through Fighter Records. It will be available on 21.04.2020.

Self-cover version: ROSE TATTOO will release an album called Outlaws this month. It is a re-recording of the Rock N Roll Outlaw album.

DEEP PURPLE will release a new album, entitled Whoosh!, through earMUSIC in June. It is being produced by Bob Ezrin.

DEF LEPPARD will release a CD/DVD package called London To Vegas in April. It was recorded in London, England in 2018.

URIAH HEEP will commemorate its 50th anniversary with a six-day tour of the U.K. this autumn.

JUDAS PRIEST will commemorate its 50th anniversary with a world tour this year. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will feature SABATON as opener.

TESLA’s DVD/CD Five Man London Jam will be released on March 27th. The band recorded a repertoire of its tracks at Abbey Road Studios in London, England in June 2019.

CRADLE OF FILTH and keyboardist Lindsay Schoolcraft have parted ways due to the man’s health issues.
