Greece-based black/death metal band WARHAMMER has a video for the song Tailspin, from its upcoming concept album, which is set for release in 2026.

Extreme metal duo GRAVEWITCH has a music video for the song Mistress Hate, from its self-titled album, which was released through Rock Sun Records in June 2025. The band was formed by childhood friends Chris Fleming (vocals/guitars) and Andrew Ingraham (drums) in 2013.

Black metal act IMPERI DE TENEBRA has released the Miravet MCCCVIII – Sobre El Setge I Posterior Caiguda De l’Ordre Dels Pobres Cavallers De Crist through Eternal Juggernaut Records. “As its name suggests, this debut album revisits the siege and surrender of Miravet Castle after the Templars were betrayed and persecuted by the Pope and the King of France.”

Chile-based death metal band CHROWLER has a demo called Karnivore in 2026.

Germany-based death metal band ENDLESS CURSE has a demo called Disgusting Existence. The release, per the publicity, continues the band’s hardcore mantra of “Drink, smoke, and don’t give a fuck!” This release is the follow-up to 2012’s Upheaval.

Germany-based MY DOMINION has a demo called Extinction.

Lithuania-based STRANGULIATORIUS has an album called Flies Don’t Lie through Horror Pain Gore Death. The band is compared to CARCASS, UNLEASHED and MACHETAZO.

Formed in Concepción, Chile in 2023 and featuring a line-up with experience in extreme music, with the likes of IN ASYMMETRY, ESOPHAGUS, DISOWNMENT and THE MACABRE, SERMON TO THE LAMBS has a self-titled debut album through Comatose Music in March of 2026. THE MACABRE had a demo called Sermon To The Lambs.

Avantgarde is releasing GORRCH’s Stillamentum (black metal from Italy) on 30.01.2026.

Italy-based melodic death metal band KARMIAN has a full-length called Horror Vacui through Rockshots Records in March of 2026. Each song is inspired by a different Italian murderer.

Germany-based melodic death metal band FROM ASHES REBORN has a full-length demo called Chasing Utopia.

Sweden-based GLUTTONY has an album called Eulogy To Blasphemy through F.D.A. Records in March 2026. It was recorded at Studio Blastbeat.

Brutal death/deathcore act GUTTURAL SLUG has a 6-track EP entitled Ulcers In The Flesh Of Thought through Unique Leader Records.

Australia-based THY ART IS MURDER will headline the 2026 edition of Chaos And Carnage Tour across the United States. The act will be joined by BODYSNATCHER, CARNIFEX, 200 STAB WOUNDS, INGESTED, GATES TO HELL and BODYBOX.

Malta-based death metal band BOUND TO PREVAIL has an album called Enthroned In Torment through Lethal Scissor Records in January 2026.

Italy-based DIESPNEA has an album called Radici through Code666 on the 13th of February 2026. The recording was released independently by the band in September of 2025. As opposed to its cohorts who are influenced by northern atmospheres, the band is inspired by southern imagery.

Spain-based UNBOUNDED TERROR has an album called Through The Dark Desperation through Abstract Emotions on 16.01.2026. The band has tagged a full 1993 concert.

Czech Republic-based “drum ‘n’ bass gigolo goregrind” band SPASM has thrown in the towel after 25 years of service.

Italy-based techno-death metal band SUN OF THE SUNS has a video for the song Ephemeral, Ethereal, Eternal, which is taken from the Entanglement album. It was released through Scarlet Records.

Portland, Oregon, USA-based techno death metal band NIGHTMARER has an EP called, Hell Interface, through Total Dissonance Worship on January 30th 2026.

VIOGRESION has signed a contract with Memento Mori Records.

THORIUM has picked Suburban Rot as the title for its June 2026 album. It will be issued by Emanzipation Productions.

Melodic death metal band CHAOS REVEALED has a debut demo, Foretold In Ashes. CHAOS REVEALED is based in Munich, Germany and was formed by vocalist/guitarist/bassist Konstantin Schäffer and drummer Alexander Lankes. As usual, the band is described as “cinematic.”

Greece-based black/death metal band DECIPHER has an album, entitled ΘΕΛΗΜΑ (Thelema), through Transcending Obscurity Records on 20.03.2026.

Death/doom band FOSSILIZATION‘s Advent Of Wounds will become available through Everlasting Spew Records on the 13th of February 2026.

Nine years after the release of the last full-length, Thill Smitts Terror, Norway-based black metal act SLAGMAUR has an album called Hulders Ritual through Prophecy Productions on 27.02.2026.

RAGNAROK singer Jontho, or John Thomas Bratland, died on December 21st, 2025 at the age of 48. Cardiac arrest was cited as the reason.

Sweden-based ENEMY AWAKE, the solo act of Ivan Castro, has a demo called Rotten Soul as of December 31, 2025. It was recorded by Ivan Castro and mixed at Sunlight Studio.

UK-based solo act FUATH has announced January 2nd, 2026 as the release date for a full-length called III. This release will be issued by Northern Silence Productions.

Egypt-based CRESCENT has a new studio album, called A Sacrament To Aur, through Listenable Records in the spring of 2026.

SIDIOUS’ next record, entitled Malefic Necropolis, is available through Immortal Frost Productions in January of 2026. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Russ Russell.

Austria-based “post black metal” band ELLENDE has an album called Zerfall through AOP Records in January of 2026.

France-based “Roman metal” band DEOS has an album called Augustus Omnipotens, which is a conceptual journey through the rise of Octavian, later Augustus, the first Emperor of Rome. The album is released through WormHoleDeath.

Windsor, Canada-based thrash band DEVILZ BY DEFINITION has announced a release called Devilz Knight for June 2026.

TANKARD is in Latin America for five concerts in April and May of 2026.

Thrashy and crossover act DECLARATIONS has a self-titled EP through The Charon Collective. The main man Mike Wright speaks of being a born again Christian on the release.

Brazil-based thrash metal act DEATHRAISER has an album called Forged In Hatred on Xtreem Music in January of 2026. It is the band’s first since 2011’s Violent Aggression.

Led by Aussie man and Sweden-based multi-instrumentalist Matthew Bell, who is in a dozen projects, TJAKTJADÁLVVE is an atmospheric black metal project. The act’s new release is called Encompassing Nothingness.

Greece-based death metal band PHASMA has a full-length entitled Purgatory through Transcending Obscurity Records on 20.02.2026.

Spain-based death metal band DISCERPTUS will release its debut demo Rebirth on January 16, 2026. The act features three former AVULSED members.

Chile-based deathcore band GENOFAGIA has a demo called Cyberpunk.

Formed by Duncan Wilkins (FUKPIG/MISTRESS/ex-ANAAL NATHRAKH) in the spring of 2023, drone band CATTLE HAMMER has an EP, called Dark Thoughts With Lights Out, which will be released by Road To Masochist on CD and vinyl on February 6th 2026.

The Switzerland contribution to the universe of NIGHTSHADEs, has an album called In Essence Divided, through My Kingdom Music on 20.02.2026.

Atmospheric black metal band PRISON OF MIRRORS has a full-length, called De Sepulchris Occultis Et Igne Profanationis, through Aeternitas Tenebrarum Musicae Fundamentum on February 24th 2026. It was recorded at Sonic Temple Studio, and mixed/mastered by Studio Emissary. The two tracks add up to 30 minutes of music.

Russia-based WE SICKLE OF DUST’s Across The Vultures Trail (described as epic symphonic black metal) is out through Flowing Downward in January 2026.

“Celebrating” the 20th anniversary of the Shadows Are Security album, AS I LAY DYING is touring Russia this winter.

Germany-based thrash metal band LEAD INJECTOR will release its debut full-length Witching Attack on 20.02.2026. It was recorded at Stereoid Studios Saxony by Thomas Conrad.

Hungary-based speed metal group TÜRBÖWITCH has signed with Time To Kill Records for the release of a new full-length album, which is scheduled to see the light in the first half of 2026. TÜRBÖWITCH was born in 2016 in Budapest and was founded by vocalist Zslöd and guitarist Kommandante Klit. TÜRBÖWITCH hit the road with ENFORCER in March of 2025.

USA-based horror/crossover solo act NECROSEXUAL, led by The Necrosexual, has a demo called Road To Rubble. The music is described as part CRONOS and part KING DIAMOND.

Belgium-based PREDATORY VOID has an EP entitled Atoned In Metamorphosis. It will become available through Pelagic Records in February of 2026.

Australia-based progressive metal act EKOSA will release a demo called Deliver Us From Evil on January 8, 2026. The music arrives with an accompanying video filmed by Josh McCawley (Lethal With A Lens) and artwork featuring choreographer Emily Davidson.

Belgium-based AKEM MANAH has an album, called Threnodies, through Black Lion Records in March.

Returning goth/doom band SAD WHISPERINGS will release a new album called The Hermit through Vidar Records on 19.01.2026.

Germany-based keyboard and piano damaged solo act DAIDALOS has an album called Dante out through Rockshots Records on February 20th, 2026. The sole member is Tobias Püschner.

Fighter Records will release the debut album by Canada-based RAVENSPELL on March 12th, 2026. The Quebec City band's debut album is called Obsidian King.

Along with appearances at Hell's Heroes Festival and 2 Minutes To Tulsa, VOIVOD would join BAT for a mini-tour of the United States in the spring of 2026.

Greece-based LEATHERHEAD has a full-length called Violent Horror Stories through No Remorse Records on 13.02.2026. It was produced by the band and George Kougioumtzoglou.

WOLVERINE has a lyric video for the song This World And All Its Dazzling Lights, which is taken from the forthcoming album, Anomalies. It is available through Music Theories Recordings on February 6th, 2026.

Greece-based power metal band SHADOWMASS has an album, entitled Wastelands, through Floga Records on 19.01.2026.

Australia-based heavy metal band SHADOWBORN has released its debut demo, Through the Hourglass as of 18.12.2025. The Perth-based group features members from VANTA, IMPERATORE, ETHEREAL REALM (Sydney) and WOLFSHEAD (New Zealand) and was founded in 2024.

Portugal-based duo SOUL OF ANUBIS will release an album, entitled Ritual, through Time To Kill Records on 20.02.2026. The label reports that the band combines thrash, sludge, doom and post-metal.

Portugal-based ALKATEYA reports that its bassist Pedro Mendes has died. No cause of death was revealed.

VICIOUS RUMORS' rescheduled dates for The US Asylum Tour begin in late February and run through March. WICKED, OFFENSIVE, etc. will open.

SAXON's founding guitarists Graham Oliver and Paul Quinn reunited for a special concert at the Birdwell venue in Barnsley, England on December 29th to celebrate 45 years of the 1980 album Wheels Of Steel. Said Oliver: "I am diagnosed with Parkinson's so (this will) possibly (be) the last time locally we perform together…" The show was billed as GRAHAM OLIVER'S ARMY featuring Paul Quinn.

Why didn't anyone else think of this? Record other people's music and charge people for it! KERRIGAN has a 7" single. The A-side features a new song called The Ice Witch. The B-side features You Just Haven’t Earned It Yet Baby, a cover version of a song by a pop act called THE SMITHS. Yawn.

Ryker Castro is the musician behind the metal project EVERY KING HAS A CLOWN. A video for the song Crucify Me from the Every King Has A Clown album is available through Cleopatra Records on January 30, 2026. The Crucify Me line-up is Berzan Önen (DREAMTONE and MPR) - vocals, Ryker Castro - bass, Fabio Alessandrini (ANNIHILATOR) - drums and Cacá Barrós and Pedro Vallejo on guitar. It goes without saying that the project also has Mark Boals (but no Ripper! or Speed!!) involved.

THUNDEROR has a demo called Bleed For It in March 2026. The band is opening for CHRIS HOLMES in Europe in May 2026 preceded by a Canadian mini-tour with BURNING WITCHES in April.

Germany-based heavy metal act DIE KNAPPEN announced that its singer and bassist Ralf "Schiri" Schieritz has died. He was 61.

THE RETICENT, a progressive project led by "Grammy-nominated music educator and multi-instrumentalist" Chris Hathcock, has a video for the song The Bed Of Wasps (Those Consumed With Panic), which is from the band’s latest album Please, which is out through Generation Prog Records now. Like every other band nowadays, the band is "cinematic."

Puerto Rico-based progressive metal trio ENDER has an EP, called Ender II: In Silent Throne, through Praetorian Records in February.

France-based goth/doom metal group ANGELLORE has signed with Ardua Music and will release a full-length called Rien Ne Devait Mourir in 2026.

TYKETTO has announced a 10-date headlining tour for the United Kingdom for April of 2026. WARRIOR SOUL and COLLATERAL will open.

Norwegian vocalist Silje Wergeland has announced her departure from pop rockers THE GATHERING after 16 years.

NAZARETH has parted ways with singer Carl Sentance after ten years and replaced him with Gianni Pontillo (multiple projects). NAZARETH is continuing on to tour Europe for most of 2026.

The now UK-based doom and goth band THE MEDEA PROJECT launched its Kharon demo with a show at Dingwalls 2 in London, UK. Their performance was recorded and will be released as a live demo, Live At Dingwalls, on January 9th 2026.

TRIUMPH is back and will embark on the The Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded tour in celebration of its 50th anniversary, with support from APRIL WINE, in the spring of 2026. This will be TRIUMPH's first full tour in nearly four decades with the line-up of Rik Emmett (vocals and guitar), Mike Levine (bass) and Gil Moore (drums). They will be joined by bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz and previous singer and guitarist Phil X.

SHADOWBORN - THROUGH THE HOURGLASS
Shadowborn is a young band based out of Australia and this demo is plenty mature, in addition to featuring impressive heavy metal, already. The band has plenty of power, speedy riffing, epic and melodious rhythms and has achieved a good sound. The soloing on the title track is amazing, as are the guitar effects of Flame Tornado or the speed of A Gift Of The Gods, which is made for fans of Dragonforce. Singer Josh Glendenning has an epic tone, a powerful voice and an amazing scream that belies his otherwise somewhat flat style. The lyrics, incidentally, have a few things to say.

Kudos to this bunch for delivering on the tenets of true metal. Fans of old Ruthless, old Warlord, Eliminator or Skull Fist will surely enjoy this. - Ali "The Metallian"
